Window Cleaning Software in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK

Window cleaning looks much the same in Toronto, Brisbane, Auckland and Manchester as it does in Dallas. A van, ladders, a pole, a round of regular customers and a storefront route. But plenty of software is built with only American addresses, American currency and American habits in mind. If you clean windows outside the US, it is worth checking that your software actually fits where you work.

Window Cleaning Is the Same Trade Everywhere

The weekly habit from Reports in Window Cleaning Software: What Got Cleaned and What Got Paid — checking what got cleaned, what got paid and what is coming due — works the same in any country. So does nearly everything else in this series. WindowBossPro works in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK, and bills customers in their own currency.

Billing in Your Own Currency

Customers should see invoices in the currency they pay in. A homeowner in Vancouver expects Canadian dollars; a shop in Leeds expects pounds; a customer in Perth expects Australian dollars. WindowBossPro bills customers in their own currency, so invoices, statements and the amounts shown in the customer app make sense to the person paying.

Sales tax works the same way as anywhere else in the system: it is added to invoices with line items, so the totals customers see match what you need to collect. Set it up for where you work during company setup.

Addresses and the Map

Every feature that plans the day depends on addresses landing in the right place on the map: the Waiting List, the dispatch board, auto-routing from the shop, and the live route in the customer app. When you import customers or add them by hand, include the full address with city, province, state or region, and postal code. A quick look at the map after an import shows anything that landed in the wrong spot.

Once the addresses are right, routing works the same in a Canadian suburb as in an Australian one: assign due cleanings to a van and a day, auto-route Closest First or Furthest First, and set the order.

Rounds and Routes

In the UK, Australia and New Zealand, many window cleaners talk about their “round” rather than a route. It is the same idea: a set of regular customers cleaned on a rhythm, often every four or eight weeks for homes and more often for shops.

WindowBossPro handles that with recurring cleanings set by minimum days between visits. A four-weekly round customer can be set to 30 days; an every-two-weeks shop to 14; a less frequent home to 90 or 180. When each customer comes due, they appear on the Waiting List map, and the round is built from what is due. How Window Cleaning Software Keeps Recurring Cleanings Coming Due covers the details.

Texting Outside the US

Texting is part of every plan, with a monthly allowance of segments sent and received. If you work outside the US, check how texting works in your country during your free trial before you rely on automatic alerts for every customer. Email reminders and alerts work everywhere and are a good fallback while you confirm texting.

Keep text templates short and plain in any country. Long messages and fancy characters use more segments.

Time Zones and Working Days

Your schedule should follow your local day. Make sure your company settings reflect where you work, so the dispatch board, the tech app and the night-before reminders line up with your real working hours. A night-before reminder that arrives at 3am is not much of a reminder.

If you work near a border or serve customers in more than one region, keep the address details complete for each one so routing and billing stay right.

Same Software, Same Price

The plans are the same everywhere: Start, Pro and Crew, never billed per user, with a 14-day free trial and no credit card. The trial is the right time to confirm the details that matter for your country — currency on invoices, addresses on the map, alerts arriving at the right time — with a handful of real customers before you move the whole list over.

Run your own round through it for two weeks. If the invoices, the map and the reminders all look right for your customers, the rest of the system will too.
