Logging In to the Window Cleaning App: Company Login Plus a Personal PIN

The first thing a tech does every morning is open the app and sign in. It sounds like the least interesting part of the day, but how a crew logs in decides who gets credit for each job, who can see gate codes, and how fast you can shut off access when someone leaves. WindowBossPro uses two layers: the company login, then a personal PIN for each tech.

Two Layers, Two Jobs

The full tour of the app is in Window Cleaning App: The Complete Guide for Window Cleaning Companies and Their Techs. Login is where that tour starts.

The company login tells the app which business this phone belongs to. It connects the phone to your clients, your addresses, your service list and your schedule. A tech who works for you uses your company login. Nobody outside the company has it.

The personal PIN tells the app which person is holding the phone. Each employee gets their own PIN when the office sets them up. Once the PIN is entered, the app shows that tech's own jobs for the day, in the order set on the dispatch board for their van.

Splitting it this way means you never have to hand out a full office password to a seasonal helper, and you never have to wonder who tapped Complete on the house with the missed skylight.

Why Every Tap Should Have a Name on It

A lot of small window cleaning outfits run on one shared phone or one shared login. It works when there is one van and one owner. It falls apart the first time two people are working on the same day.

With a personal PIN, every action is tied to a person:

None of that is about catching anyone out. It is about answering questions quickly. When a property manager calls about a streak on the lobby door, you want to ask the person who cleaned it, not the whole crew.

Setting Up a New Tech

The office adds the employee, gives them a PIN and assigns them to a van. That is the whole setup. On the first morning, the tech opens the app in the browser on their own phone, enters the company login, enters their PIN, and sees their list.

Because the app runs in the browser on iPhone and Android, there is nothing to download from an app store. Most techs install it to the home screen so it opens with one tap like any other app. The details are in iPhone or Android, No App Store: Putting the Window Cleaning App on Phones Your Techs Already Have.

A tip that saves a phone call later: have the new tech log in while you are standing next to them at the shop, not at the first house. If anything is typed wrong, you fix it in thirty seconds instead of from a ladder across town.

Choosing PINs

A PIN should be easy for the tech to remember and hard for anyone else to guess. Avoid birthdays everybody knows, the last four of the van's plate, or 1234. Let the tech pick something they will remember on a cold morning with gloves half off.

Keep each PIN to one person. If two techs share a PIN, the app can no longer tell them apart, and you are back to the shared-login problem. If a helper rides along for a day and does not need their own access, the lead tech runs the app on their own PIN.

When Someone Leaves

Window cleaning has seasons, and crews change. When a tech leaves, the office turns off their access. Because gate codes and access notes live on the address and are only shown to logged-in techs, turning off the PIN takes that access with it.

Compare that to the old way. Codes sent by group text stay in a former employee's messages forever. A printed job sheet with every code on it can sit in a glovebox for years. A PIN that no longer works is a cleaner break.

The same goes for lost or broken phones. If a phone goes off a ladder and into a pool, the tech borrows another phone, signs in with the company login and their PIN, and keeps working. Nothing important lived on the broken phone itself.

Logging In Is the Easy Part

Once the tech is signed in, the real work starts: the day's jobs in order, navigation, window details, photos and the three buttons. Next in this series is the route list itself. For everything else the tech does on the phone, go back to the WindowBossPro window cleaning app overview.

Give Every Tech Their Own PIN

WindowBossPro ties every job, photo and clock-in to the tech who did it, with a company login and a personal PIN on the phones your crew already has.
